One of the best books I read this year. Ramey Romany's storytelling is simply captivating. The book is an interesting read. The amount of inbreeding was all-encompassing resulting in several nativity defects including death. The long Egyptian names, which change as the religion swings to worship Aten, are very long, often similar and can create defoliation on the family unit structure. It was more of a iii.5-3.75 for me.

The potential ties to Christianity and figures from biblical readings and psalms was very thought provoking for me. It fabricated me want to research manufactures a scrap further. (Sign of a skillful book!)

If Egyptology, the tombs of the kings, the Pharoah Tutankhamun or Tutankhaten, Queen Nefertiti is of any involvement; this is worth the read.

Compelling, But….

In order to obtain a meliorate understanding of what this book purported to exist most, it was necessary that I read it twice in succession. This was considering by the time I finished the book the first fourth dimension I realized that the blurb which indicated what the book was about, was actually extremely lax in including quite a few pertinent bits of information that information technology really contained. In other words, I was more dislocated when I finished the book, than I had been before beginning it. And then I re-read information technology to obtain a more inclusive picture of what Romany was attempting to say.

For instance, there was no mention of Romany'south research into whether there was some validity to the belief that the 18th Dynasty pharaoh, Amenhotep Iv, also known as Akhenaten – the so-called 'evil one' to whom this book refers – was believed to take also been the Hebrew prophet, Moses. In my opinion, that little tidbit right there is a far greater 'selling' betoken to Egyptologists, archaeologists, Biblical scholars and laypeople than just an expose of who an Egyptian pharaoh whose retentiveness was essentially wiped out of being by his former subjects might really exist, regardless of how intriguing that story is.

Akhenaten might accept been Moses? If that assumption – which was originally theorized past none other than Sigmund Freud in the first half of the 20th Century, and a more than recent volume written on the subject area past Egyptologist, Ahmed Osman – is true, then to say that this volition necessitate a huge rewrite of our history is an understatement.

Really, one of the things that drew me to this book – aside from the fact that it is about Akhenaten – is that it is allegedly true. I say 'allegedly' considering "famed Egyptologist and documentarian Ramy Romany" seems to be collaborating to some extent with another 'famed Egyptologist', the infamous Zahi Hawass. Is it true? Or is it just an obfuscation of the so-called known 'facts' to his ain/their own ends? Hard to say.

The fact that several other Egyptologists, archaeologists and historians are currently presenting at to the lowest degree ii similar theories about who Akhenaten was, seems to be enough to cause virtually interested parties to at least sit up and take notice.

This subject of who non only Akenhaten might actually have been, simply who Moses may have been as well first piqued my marvel when I came across Ahmed Osman'south book on Moses and Akhenaten. Since then I've come beyond several versions of the story (i.e. that Moses and Akehnaten were the aforementioned person or that Moses was actually Akhenaten'south brother, T(h)utmoses, and both were the sons of the Egyptian pharaoh, Amenhotep III.

Merely I digress. The 'Akhenaten was probably Moses' theory was what I came away with afterwards reading CONSPIRED: THE EVIL Ane SHALL Non Live AGAIN. Withal, in my opinion, he does not stop his thoughts where the 'Akhenaten was probably Moses' theory is concerned. In fact, what Romany seems to be focusing on is how much Akhenaten was hated by the Egyptian people for taking away access to their gods, too as attempting to nail downwards who was in which 'tomb' or just where s/he might be if there was no torso/mummy for which to account. And most of all, what a horrible, vile brute this pharaoh was.

In my opinion, this information does seem to jibe with the missing bits of data and fills in some of the questionable time periods. But non all.

I won't say this was a complete waste of my time to read. (Specially twice!) I learned a few things I didn't know. Or rather, I learned a few things I'd like to investigate further, since there's no guarantee that anything in this volume is absolute fact. But who knows? Information technology could exist. I'll give him the benefit of the doubtfulness. But I yet reserve the right to question his – and Hawass's – findings. There are still too many questions. And as well many attempting to grab fame – and in many cases, notoriety – any way they tin.

Fun read, though. Recommended, if for no other reason than that someone else might experience an epiphany.
